病因/发病机理   

Cause & Pathogenesis

·        棉子是廉价的蛋白和纤维饲料 Cottonseed is a cheap source of protein and fibre

·        含有使心肌中毒的棉子酚 Contains gossypol which is a cardio toxin

·        造成对心肌的渐进性损伤 Causes gradual destruction of heart muscle

·        用含棉子饼的犊牛开食料进行饲喂的牛多见

Most common in bottle fed calves fed a starter ration of cottonseed meal

临床症状    Clinical Findings

犊牛                    Calves

·        突然死亡，伴有心肌损伤的呼吸困难

Sudden death and respiratory dyspnea associated with myocardial damage

成年牛        Adults

·        繁殖困难               Reproductive problems

·        公牛可逆性不育   Reversible sterility in bulls

诊断

·        饲料史、临床症状、饲料分析 Feeding history, clinical signs and feed analysis

鉴别诊断   

Differential Diagnosis

·        莫能菌素中毒       Monensin toxicity

·        VE/Se缺乏           Vitamin E/Se deficiency

·        饲料分析> 10,000 ppm     Feed analysis > 10,000 ppm
